Valentine's Day Recipes For Pups

We hope that you and your pup are able to enjoy some quality time in the kitchen whipping up some delicious treats this Valentine's Day! 
Valentine's Day is about spending time with the one you love - and we definitely mean your dog! Enjoy some time together making dog-friendly recipes that your pup will love!

Ingredients (cupcakes):
1/2 cup applesauce
1/3 cup nonfat yogurt
2 eggs
2 cups oat flour
1 tsp baking powder

Ingredients (icing):
• 3 tbsp non-fat yogurt
• 1 tsp cornstarch
• 1/4 cup strawberries OR blueberries for topping
• 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

1.) For the cupcakes, start by preheating the oven to 350º F.

2.) Add the applesauce and yogurt and blend until smooth. Add eggs and mix until combined. Add flour and baking powder and mix until combined.

3.) Spoon batter into a mini cupcake pan, making sure the tops are rounded and smooth and that there are no bubbles.

4.) Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool completely before frosting.

5.) For the icing, mix the yogurt, cornstarch, and vanilla. Stir until you see a smooth consistency (~ 1 minute).

6) Add frosting to a piping bag and decorate! Top with some finely chopped strawberries and/or blueberries.

7.) Time for tail waggles and licks, your pup will be sure to enjoy this Valentine treat!


Ingredients (treats):

• 2 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 egg
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup water
2 tbsp honey

Ingredients (frosting):
• 1/3 cup cornstarch
• 2 tbsp peanut butter
• 1 tbsp honey
• 3 tbsp hot water

Instructions:
1.) Start by preheating the oven to 350º F.

2.) In a large bowl combine flour and the egg. Add peanut butter, water, honey and stir until the dough becomes firm and sticky.

3.) On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough about 1/2 inch thick and use a heart shaped cookie cutter to make these special for Valentine's Day.

4.) Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden. Once done, set aside to cool.

5.) For the frosting, combine the peanut butter and honey in a bowl, and heat in the microwave in 15 second increments, stirring in between, until melted.

6.) Once melted, add the peanut butter mixture to cornstarch and stir until combined. Slowly add in water until you have reached the consistency that you would like.

7.) You can put the frosting in a piping bag to make decorating the cookies more fun!


These healthy frozen treats are easy to make if you are on a time crunch!

Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup coconut oil

• 1/4 cup coconut blueberries

• 6 strawberries finely diced

Instructions:

1.) Add a few pieces of strawberries and blueberries to a compartment of a silicone mold or ice cube tray.

2.) Melt the coconut oil in the microwave for 30 - 45 seconds.

3.) Pour the melted coconut oil over the berries and place the mold into the freezer.

4.) When completely frozen, pop the berry and coconut bits from the mold and store in a container in the freezer.
