The first day of fall is here! I don't know about you, but this is my pups favorite time of year. She doesn't get hot on our walks, we go hiking more, and PUMPKINS!

Here are a few things that Mia and I are looking forward to this fall:

  1. Sniffari - our pups LOVE to smell around and collect all the information they can through their noses. The fall is the best time for sniffaris! There so many places to check out, your pup doesn't get hot as fast which means longer walks, and the leaves falling on the group calls for some amazing photos!

  2. Great Country Farms - located in Bluemont, Virginia is Great Country Farms Corn Maze and Apple Harvest! Now through September 30th you can try some freshly pressed cider, get lost in the corn maze for hours, try their award winning apple cider donuts, and play around the 12 acre property - ALL WITH YOUR PUP! On weekends they also add live music, marshmallow roasting, pig races, and cider pressing demonstrations. This is a great place for families to go and also get the pawfect photo op with your favorite pups.

  3. Farmers Markets - Your pup can walk around and socialize while you collect some fresh, in season, fruits and veggies. Farmers markets are the best place to get not only fresh foods but fresh local honey, flowers, and some will have food trucks! Just make sure to check your specific farmers market to make sure your furriends are allowed!

  4.  Fall Pumpkin Harvest Festival – also located at Great Country Farms is their pumpkin festival! For the entire month of October you can go on over and have yourself a blast with your pup! Wagon Rides to pick your pumpkin, Pig Races, P-Rex the pumpkin eating Dino Show, marshmallow roasting, live music, pumpkin cannons, cow train, visit the animals in the farm, Cow Pie Putt Putt, and have a savory lunch at Henway Hard Cider!

  5. Check Out a Local Winery – with the leaves changing colors, the best thing to do is sit and enjoy the scenery. Why not add some food and drinks to that as well? Grab some friends, get some good food and enjoy the fall colors!

Fall is the best time to take advantage of the weather cooling off and the world around you changing colors. Take your pup out and enjoy the crisp air and don't forget to take all the pictures!
