We know that the Fourth of July is a fun time to celebrate with friends and family! However, with fireworks, barbecues, and more - there are some things to keep in mind for the pups!

Fireworks + Loud Noises

Some dogs do get scared by loud noises and may not be too happy with the loud, booming fireworks on the 4th of July. Especially if you can't be home with your pups, here are some steps that you can take to make the night easier for them.

  • Have a dark, closed off space for your pup to go. Place your dog's bed or some blankets in a dark and closed off space, such as a walk-in closet or bathroom. This will give your dog a dark and comfortable space to get away from the noises and relax.
  • Give your dog calming chews. If your dog's anxiety gets triggered by loud noises, it may be helpful to give them calming chews prior to the fireworks beginning to calm them down.
